 Fansteel-American Sintered Technologies,
Inc. is a producer of powder metal components for the
Automotive, Lawn & Garden, Hardware, Power Tools, R.V.s',
Electrical devices, Plumbing and other industries.
Components supplied are structural parts such
as gears, cams, pawls levers, ratchets,sprockets, etc. and oil
impregnated bearings. Materials available are iron and carbon
steel, iron-copper and copper steel, iron nickel and nickel steel,
copper infiltrated iron and steel, low alloy steel, sintered
hardened steel, 300&400 stainless steel, brass and bronze.
One of A.S.T.'s most vital capabilities, is
its ability to provide Engineering assistance to its customers
during the initial design phase and/or during the conversion
of a casting, forging, plastic, stamping or machined part to
the powder metal (P/M) technology.
A.S.T.'s products provides near Net Shape
capabilities, offering cost savings over other methods of manufacturing.
It also offers complete service including secondary operations
of heat treat, steam treat, plating and machining.

A.S.T. was established in 1988 and participated in very
strong growth supported by highly technical personnel. The company
was acquired by Fansteel, Inc. in 1996. |
